Holiday from work.

It all goes downhill from here....

I have 7 days off from work, I have a fully planned week. I planned to see everybody important in my life. Then The day before my holiday well I start to get a sore throat.... meh it's just a sore throat nothing special...... keep reading!!!!!

Day one:
Sam is house sitting for his Mum for two weeks at the moment, so I planned to base myself there with him so every night I get to see him and I didn't need to plan loads of days to see him, just one date day. I went to Sam's to spend the day with him, he was the perfect host asking me if I wanted a drink, So I asked for a frothy coffee, which we both don't know how to make, which turned into Sam burning his finger on boiling milk. Oooppps. A few hours later and Sam begins to cook our evening meal, we are having some chicken in sauce thing. I have some cherryade while waiting for the chicken to cook and some Mccoys flame grilled steak crisps because I was hungry. After an hour and a half the chicken in Sam's words was still uncooked. Sam binned the chicken and we had a dominoes instead during the wait for the pizza delivery, I ate some Spanish meats and we fed the neighbours cat named GINGE.
We saw some local hooligans walking up the street and we were curtain twitching maybe their would be a fight?. I had been watching Pretty little liars most of the evening. The pizza arrived and It was yummy but I only ate half. We watched a film called 28 days later and I had a disarono with cherryade which was very sweet. I still had a sore throat which felt worse so I went to bed and watched a programme called married at first sight until I fell asleep.

Day two:

The day I will call, the day that ruined my holiday from work. I woke up which a massive sore throat, I needed to go to the shop to get medication!!!! I woke up before Sam and went down stairs I was going to make breakfast in bed just toast but still. I opened the curtains and went to let some air in the back door I turned around and there was ladders now up against the windows. I instantly ran up stairs to Sam just saying there's ladders Sam look ladders. Sam got out of bed and investigated it was a window cleaner that he told to go away. I thought it was a robber ha-ha. We walked to the shop to get my medication and a greggs lunch we had a Mexican baguette and a cupcake. We did some cleaning and then went to check in with Mum and give Squishy some love, From Mum's we went to my Dad's one to take him my Brothers golf clubs and two to bring back his heavy duty paste table for our car-boot.

When We got to my Dads his dog Spartan started to bark from the garden, we finally got into the house and and over excited Spartan calmed down. I love giving him love and I think he enjoys it back. I watched my last
episode of Pretty Little Liars and then started
on Gossip Girl but I couldn't get into it properly. Sam cooked frozen pizza and then I went in the shower.

I came down stairs feeling rough and Sam was acting very strange. I mentioned going to bed early and he was like why? I was like I am poorly? Then there was a knock at the door. It was after 10pm? Sam has ordered me a kinder Buenos milkshake and my favourite Ben and jerry's ice cream because  he knew my throat was sore. I cancelled my plans for the next day because of how rough I had been, watched a bit of Kinda funny on YouTube and then went to bed.

Day three:
I woke up, got dressed and went to my meeting at work. My cold was in full swing, I had the blocked nose, sore throat and high temperature. My meeting at work got cancelled which was fine as I wasn't really feeling it anyway. I went to meet Sam at Stechford retail park to get more medication. I need to be fighting this cold!!! Me and Sam bought vicks, head sore, nose spray, lemsip, paracetamol and
cough syrup etc. We had a cheeky McDonald's and then went home. I found a charger that actually worked in my phone as Sam's doesn't. Cancelled my friend coming round. Me and Sam watched Save the last dance on the sofa with lots of fizzy pop. I felt drugged and still really poorly so I had a nap shortly followed by Sam that nap turned into a 4 hours sleep. Ooops. We woke up and fed GINGE, ordered a yummy Chinese and watched some Come dine with me, Jamie Oliver and I

cancelled my next day plans, I just didn't feel well at all. Sam had been runnign around after me a lot. Work had phoned me telling me I had made a good first impression on a lady from head office and gave me another shift. I spoke to my dad on the phone and then had an early night.

Day four:
I eventually got dressed and cleaned the house despite feeling like poop. I spoke to GINGE as it wasn't feeding time. Me and Sam had a little argument about something I cant even remember now but he had started getting ill like me at this point so......... it wasn't good. We went to asda for a few bits and pieces that we didn't really need. We watched some come dine with me and Look who's talking which is one of my go to films when I am feeling down in the dumps we followed that with look who's talking now. I cooked us
Spaghetti Bolognaise which garlic bread,
followed by a 5 layer chocolate trifle then I went home because we were doing a car-boot the next morning. At home I watched some TV and spoke to Mum, had some love from Squishy a cup of tea and then I went to bed.

Day five:
I actually felt a little better just a bit heady. A migraine I think. I went in to wake Mum for the Car-boot and she wasn't well so we didn't end up going. I went back to bed and took a few pain killers. Waking up I had a sausage sandwich and loads of Squishy love
which always makes me feel better. I went to pick Sam up then we went on our poorly person mission of the day AKA taking Dani my tent to borrow. Went drove to Erdignton to collect the tent and made a pit stop on the way back to burger king to get a chicken royale......YUM and

a Starbucks, this coffee thing is new for me so I am trying to find out what I like. We then went to see the

lil people which I love and we were playing and chatting and it was all very hyper. We left after 3 ish hours and it was safe to say we struggled. I cooked me and Sam a lovely fry up for our evening meal.... it was OK considering I was poorly and I have never cooked on ever!!! I took loads of medication and went to watch TV in bed, I watch Tokyo drift.

Day six:
Today is the day of the memorial to say goodbye to Sam's aunt. It was a nice service followed by lots of laughs and memories with Sam's family. I wish I didn't always see them under sad circumstances because some of them are really lovely. Once we finished at the memorial about 5pm ish we went into Morrisons and got some deli food for our evening meal.
We had pork pie, antipasti meats, sausage rolls etc. At home my head ache got tuns worse so I took some more pills, watched some storage hunters played Candy crush soda and then I went home. At home I phoned Sam ha-ha watched some Pretty little liars and YouTube then had an early night as we had a car-boot the next day.

Day 7:
Car-boot  Vs Migraine day, I woke up at 5am and took 1 pain killer woooo. We went to the car-boot sale and it was actually ok my head killed but it was a good distraction. Me and Mum had a laugh but we were both feeling poop by 12pm so we just packed up and went home. At home we were doing some last minute flower arranging because Mum had promised one of her friends she would make a lady and man button whole with white roses for the Wednesday and It was now the Sunday before and Mum was going on holiday the day after. I was exhausted and in so much pain I just wanted to get back to Sam's. I got to Sam's and we had a weird little argument thing which just didn't make me feel great but an hour later I left to go out with my friends. I went to one of their houses and ordered in Chinese. I got to player with the kids and then came back to Sam's by 9pm I made us a bacon sandwich and we chilled on the sofa watching Step Brothers both feeling very fragile.

As you can see my planned pretty much all failed. I am better now and life is resuming as normal. On a positive note at least I got to spend a lazy week with Sam.

Road trip, over night camping and the North Atlantic Ocean Part 2

Adventure to Devon with Sam and his dad.

We all woke up at 8am to the rain beating down on the tent. Our plans were to add on an extra day but looking at the next days weather we decided to just leave late on the Thursday evening as we organised. The weather for Thursday was partly sunny but warm with rain. Our excited dropped a little as we were all hoping for a sunny day on the beach where we could go into the sea.

We altered our plans, over breakfast we had bacon, beans and a fried egg cooked by Tony on his little hob. We washed it down with a nice cuppa. I washed up all the breakfast stuff so we could pack it away and then we packed up the tent and car and headed for Teignmouth. We parked the car and walked down towards the sea front past a few church's which I took some lovely pictures.

Strangely on the sea fronts both the day before and today there were loads of dead jelly fish which I found really strange I had never seen a jelly fish yet now I see several dead on a beach it was actually sad. We carried on walking along the sea front and then down the pier. The pier has been there for years but when I lived in Teignmouth I spent a lot of time on it but it was full of games and felt big, now it was tiny and felt empty which was a real shame.

We then walked along the middle section in between the town and the beach, there was a little charity car boot where me and Sam bought Tony a plaque for his shed saying “Dad's Shed”. We carried on walking towards an adventure golf, it cost £4 per person. I sucked so bad at put put I didn't stand a chance a winning so I just had fun but Sam and Tony were fighting for the winning title ha-ha. It came down to the last hole Tony needed 1 and Sam to score 8 for Tony to win and Tony scored 2 and Sam scored 9 so they were on level points. We all had an Ice cream and headed towards the town to find a gift shop.

Me and Sam bought some rock for our family and a little gift for each other and I knew that Tony bought a little gift for Sam and his nan. We got back to the car and exchanged our gifts Sam got me a bracelet that said Rebecca and a keyring that said Becky, I got Sam a red mini as its his favourite car and I thought he would really like it but I think he was a bit underwhelmed by it. Tony gave Sam his gift and then handed me a box containing a shaker with a beach hut inside, I had no idea he had got me something and it was beautiful so I was chuffed.

We  headed into Dawlish we parked and walked along the stream where there are cages of baby ducks  which of course I took pictures of, We went into a little tea room called The Old Mill and had English tea with scones strawberry jam and Devon cream. It was yummy and filling. Once that had settled we went into the arcade and played on some gambling machines which is always a treat. By 4pm we were finished in the arcade and headed back to the car.

As we had sometime before going to the Smugglers Inn so we back to Shaldon to the zoo which we seen the day before it cost £7 and it was so good walking around and looking at all the different monkeys and birds and meerkats. The zoo was into the cliff and big and green it was beautiful I did take some pictures but they didn't come out that great. At roughly 5.45pm we headed to The Smugglers Inn which is in-between Teignmouth and Dawlish we took some traditional pictures (I have similar pictures from every time I visit) with the beautiful back ground.

We went inside to find out they were fully booked which made us all pissed. We spent the next 20 minutes driving toward Exeter looking for a nice place to eat. We ended up at the Beefeater in Exeter before the motorway home. It probably would have been better if we hadn't been expecting to eat somewhere else.
We ate and then headed home with one stop for coffee in the middle. I got dropped off at home at roughly 10.30pm.

We were all so tired.

Road trip, Over night camping and the North Atlantic Ocean Part 1

Adventure to Devon with Sam and his dad.

Me, Sam and Tony were planning a day trip to a beach, which turned into an over night stay....thanks to my new tent hehe. We planned to go very early on the Wednesday morning but of course something cropped up and I had to go to a meeting (which is a secret). We left Birmingham city centre at 11.40am and headed on the M42, M5 to Exeter.

We Stopped of a Sedgemoor service station on the way and had a little baguette lunch in the car which I bought while I was in Town (Birmingham City Centre) a baguette (Sam's and mine were southern fried chicken and Tony's was ploughmans), packet of crisps (quavers) and a can of pop only cost £1.75 so I thought it would be a good idea to save some money. We carried on the motor way for roughly another hour.

We finished on the motor way and went down some steep country lanes which was fun and scary at the same time as the drop was huge. We got to Star-cross train station and I knew we were almost there. We drove past the Ladysmile camp site where me, my Mum and Dad had a caravan when I was about 12 years old. Just around the corner was our camp-site Leadstone.

We pulled up and paid it was £33 for 3 adults and a car for 1 night. The man showed us to our pitch, he seemed really nice, we put the tent up in 40 minutes which isn't to bad for a 6 man tent, had a rest then headed off to Dawlish Warren to have a look around. We walked past a field where car-boots are held every Wednesday but as it was roughly 4.30pm it was closing but I remembered it from when I was younger and used to go there on holiday.

We got to The Mount pleasant Inn and had a little drink, me and Sam had a Pepsi and Tony had a pint of Bitter. I knew the views were beautiful but Sam and Tony didn't so the look on their faces was nice to see. We then had a little stroll down closer to the Warren beach, Tony wanted some fish and chips from a little chippy but I was sure there was one closer to the beach that was really good but I was unsure if it was still there, yep he bought some chips, oven chips and they were horrible because there isn't an actual chippy there, I am sorry Tony ooppps me and Sam had a hot dog (a wasp flew into Sam's on the last bite) then we carried on exploring the Warren. We had a little look in the shop and then walked along the sea front towards the red rock.

We went onto the beach I took some pictures and Sam and Tony were skimming stones. We decided to walk into Dawlish along the sea front. Unfortunately because the storm last year wrecked some of the sea front we had to go back up to the road and walk the rest of the way along the street. We got into Dawlish and went to the loo and shop then headed to the bus stop to catch the bus back as the walk is a smidge long.

Once back at the camp-site we had a little rest and cup of tea, got dressed and then drove to Shaldon as we were having our evening meal at The Ness, which is where I remember going with my Nan when I lived in Teignmouth. The views, service and food was amazing. I will write a blog dedicated to it at a later date.

I took far to many photos of everything and then we headed back to the camp-site at 10.30pm and then literally went to sleep. It was not the best sleep I have ever had, I got squidged by Sam and a head ache and I was freezing haha but day 1 was amazing BRING ON day 2!!!!

Have you ever visited here?? What do you think??

Work - Outside of Work!!!

Summer Fetes, Pin chasing and
The new social club

If you are not interested learning about my work stuff, you should probably stop reading here. If however you would like to read about the things I have been getting up to when I am not on shift let me begin. I have been working hard to build up a local schools database for Tenpin Birmingham, it includes the schools in roughly a 5 mile radius of the bowling alley.

I have phoned roughly 40 schools around Birmingham asking if they had a summer fete and if they did I would ask to take mobile bowling to them, any money we made would return to the school as we just wanted to advertise our Birthday Bash. 3 schools said yes starting 3rd July we had 1 summer fete each week until school finished (so 3 fetes). I took a group of 2 -3 members of staff one to wear out costume and the others to reset the pins and giving out gift bags.

At our first school fete we made £4.50 because it was extremely windy and out mobile bowling is made out of light weight plastic so the pins just kept falling over. It was also to hot to wear the costume, we gave the gift bags out with our advertisement in but the fete for Tenpin wasn't a success. Our second one went much better though one of the members of staff couldn't wear the suit for longer than an hour, we made £28 for the school and the wind only knock over the pins a few times.

I am training to become a pin chaser which is learning the basics on how the bowling lanes work and learning how to fix them which is a lot easier said than done. I spent 5 hours learning about how to do it and was shattered. I will be doing more training in a few weeks in coventry to get some more experience and confidence to get signed off. I will not only get an extra 25p an hour but it will give me more experience at Tenpin.

We had our first ever social club last week and it was a fail the only person who showed up other than me was Ash I had to persuade robbie and Emma and Moet had just finished a shift. I was the only person who bought cakes.... it failed.... I am thinking of leaving all the arranging stuff to Caz because I feel really let down when it goes wrong.

What out of work activities do your team take part in??

Elma - Royal Leamington Spa

Our Anniversary Meal.

I wanted to chose a place for our fifth anniversary meal that would be different, something fun and something I knew we would both enjoy. Looking briefly up restaurants in Leamington, Elma stuck out, one because it was turkish and two because the name reminded me of an elephant I am 99% sure it was a multi coloured elephant from a story book.

I emailed the restaurant trying to book a table for 17.30pm they quickly replied explaining that they didn't open until 6pm but suggested I could still go and have drinks up the bar. I thought that it was a really nice touch and made me really look forward to going there.

It was now time to go to the restaurant after getting changed in public toilets and doing my hair and make up in my car. It took us roughly 20 minutes to find the restaurant even though it was only 2 minutes from the main high street it is
hidden down a side road. We eventually got to the restaurant at about 6pm we walked in and explained we had a table booked for 17.30pm etc and the lady told us they had opened early for us, I instantly felt guilty.

We sat down and the lady came over to take the spare table cutlery away and take our drinks ordered, we both ordered a coca cola and a still mineral water. Roughly 5 minutes later she came over and took our food orders, we had a cold meze sharing platter which was beautiful, I ordered a saffron chicken and chips turkish style obviously and Sam had a duck stew. I was so impressed with both of our food it was perfect.

we waited roughly 20 minutes before having dessert we had another sharing platter of baklava, pistachio ice cream, vanilla ice cream and saffron candy floss which was soooooo yummy and I really enjoyed it. We also bought a bottle of turkish Raki which I haven't had since 2012 in crete,  So I had to buy it haha. The total bill with everything included was £70 which I thought was really good for what we had.

I would 100% recommend this place to a friend. if you are looking for great food that has a relaxed atmosphere.

The Episode Hotel - Royal Leamington Spa

The Hotel Myself and Sam
Stayed at for our anniversary adventure.

The hotel is on the edge of the main town in Leamington. I paid £54 for a double room for 1 night which included a breakfast. I looked on the board when we arrived and it said for what we had would cost £80 so I was extremely happy.

We got into Leamington at roughly 11am, Check in wasn't until 2pm so I went in and just asked if we could leave the car in their car park, which we could. Me and Sam walked roughly 30 minutes exploring the lower part of the town until going to the tourist centre and getting a map and asking for information about things to see. We walked around the shops just getting our barrings then headed back to the hotel.

It was 13.15pm so I thought I would ask if we could check in but the man explained they were fully booked the night before so we would have to wait. Rather than walking around we just sat in my car talking and laughing until 14.01pm then we checked in. We had room number 24, I was kind of dreading seeing our room after being able to see how small the rooms down stairs by the car park were.

I was totally shocked to see our room was huge and modern and clean, the bed was massive and so comfy. We didn't stay in our room long on that day because we spent the afternoon and early evening in Hellion Lakes Hotel, Golf and Spa which is in a separate blog which should have been uploaded a week before this one.

We got back at roughly 19.30pm and were starving. We headed down to the hotel bar after having a little chill in our room.

We had a fruit cider drink and ordered a antipasti sharing platter which has chorizo, parma ham, bruschetta, sun dried tomatoes and cheese stuffed peppers. For our mains we both ordered a free range chicken burger with fries. It was yummy the burger bun was rock hard but that is my only complaint.

By 21.30pm and we were in bed chilling on Facebook and watching a little bit of T.V. Eventually I fell asleep and kept waking up to check the time for some unknown reason. We had set an alarm for 8.30am to wake up for breakfast. We woke up and packed a little bit, got dressed and stumbled down for breakfast. I wasn't feeling to well, I had a massive headache.

We went downs stairs and were greeted by a lovely waitress, I sat down and Sam got me some Apple juice. I ordered a full breakfast and Sam had eggs benedict. We both had a cup of tea and went back upstairs to finish packing. We left the hotel at roughly 10.30am. We were going to be exploring the town so I asked about a local car park, the lady at the reception told us we could leave the car there, which I thought was amazing.

I really enjoyed my stay here and I will always recommend it to family and friends.
Have you ever had this kind of hotel experience?
