Work - Outside of Work!!!

Summer Fetes, Pin chasing and
The new social club

If you are not interested learning about my work stuff, you should probably stop reading here. If however you would like to read about the things I have been getting up to when I am not on shift let me begin. I have been working hard to build up a local schools database for Tenpin Birmingham, it includes the schools in roughly a 5 mile radius of the bowling alley.

I have phoned roughly 40 schools around Birmingham asking if they had a summer fete and if they did I would ask to take mobile bowling to them, any money we made would return to the school as we just wanted to advertise our Birthday Bash. 3 schools said yes starting 3rd July we had 1 summer fete each week until school finished (so 3 fetes). I took a group of 2 -3 members of staff one to wear out costume and the others to reset the pins and giving out gift bags.

At our first school fete we made £4.50 because it was extremely windy and out mobile bowling is made out of light weight plastic so the pins just kept falling over. It was also to hot to wear the costume, we gave the gift bags out with our advertisement in but the fete for Tenpin wasn't a success. Our second one went much better though one of the members of staff couldn't wear the suit for longer than an hour, we made £28 for the school and the wind only knock over the pins a few times.

I am training to become a pin chaser which is learning the basics on how the bowling lanes work and learning how to fix them which is a lot easier said than done. I spent 5 hours learning about how to do it and was shattered. I will be doing more training in a few weeks in coventry to get some more experience and confidence to get signed off. I will not only get an extra 25p an hour but it will give me more experience at Tenpin.

We had our first ever social club last week and it was a fail the only person who showed up other than me was Ash I had to persuade robbie and Emma and Moet had just finished a shift. I was the only person who bought cakes.... it failed.... I am thinking of leaving all the arranging stuff to Caz because I feel really let down when it goes wrong.

What out of work activities do your team take part in??

Over the last few days

Tuesday - Thursday

My week started on Tuesday with a family fun afternoon head of to my main blog to read that entry:  http://memyselfandcrash.blogspot.co.uk/
I then got my self ready to go to work, thats right work it was my first day back and my gosh I was nervous and excited.  I drove there and it took me roughly half and hour, I went a new way which cuts off 90% of traffic as it is all down side roads. I pulled up in the car park and took a deep breathe.

Preview of my Blog about family fun in the park.

I walked up to the back entrance and pretended I was ok. I pressed the buzzer, a new member of staff called Moet opened the door for me. Marc (the manager) was half in and half out of the cellar so I shouted hello, I went straight into the staff room to put my shirt on and sorted my bottle out and Spencer came in and said a hello (he is quite shy). I walked out of the staff room and was greeted by G and Bradley who both said I look well and gave me big hugs. I went into the managers office and Louise, Lyndsey and Caroline were all in there chatting.

My shift started and I walked to reception, The bowl was sooooo busy I jumped straight onto reception and started work. I started booking people in and changing over shoes, handling complaints and giving out redemption tickets prizes. Some things had changed but all the staff helped me pick it up. By 10 o'clock I was pooped I had, had my break and I was tired and my feet and back hurt soooo bad. IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT. I got back to Sam's at roughly 1.30am.

My snap chat from my first day back at work.

On wednesday me and Sam had a little trip to Wylde Green in Birmingham to have some lunch and look around the shops. The sun was beaming and we went to Costa coffee to have a nice cold drink and a little chit chat. We went into a card shop and I got his and my Mums birthday card, then we headed to Subway for some lunch. I ordered a new beef and chorizo melt but they didn't have any chorizo so I opted for my favourite italian BMT on cheese and herb bread, I have mine with cheese and toasted, lettuce, onion,

pickles and jalapenos with southwest sauce. We didn't have any crisps or cookies we just had a bottle of water. Sam had a new pulled chicken sub (it tasted better than mine but I wouldn't tell him that).

We went back to Sam's house and ate our subway and then we watched Breaking bad, we are only only season 3 but I really love it. We got half way through when Sam's friend called Daz came round to play Witcher on Playstation 4. Being an amazing girlfriend I was like turn this off and play your game..... I was so bored haha I caught up on my Youtube videos and read a magazine I bought earlier, then I decided to go home.

Thursday (I am writing this blog on Thursday night) I watched a little bit of Once upon a time on Netflix until Mum woke up. We then decided to go food shopping which we all know I love. To avoid spending to much money on food I don't need I went shopping down the road for birthday cards and presents for my friends who's birthday in two - three weeks. We came back from Shopping and I cleaned my bedroom and my car, I have had a productive day today.

My nice shiny car

The gift bags full of presents for my friends.
